A Film by Ephraim Kishon
(Israel, 1967, 95 Minutes, Black & white, Hebrew, English subtitle, Cast: Chaim Topol)
Following the international success of his classic Sallah Shabbati, Kishon once again combined his witty brand of social satire with the talents of Chaim Topol to create a memorably comic Israeli anti-hero.
Topol, best known for his lead role in the musical production Fiddler on the Roof, plays Arbinka, who becomes embroiled in a plot to rob the Israeli lottery in this social satire on police ineptitude and bureaucratic inefficiency.
